Act Two takeover: the shape of water

As the performance dates for our Troubled Waters season get closer, Act Two take over the blog for a Thames Tales update.

On March 20 2019 Act Two (school years 9 & 10) will take to the stage at the legendary Royal Albert Hall.

There are nerves, there is excitement, and there is some seriously hard work underway. Thames Tales is really taking shape.

Act Two have met their operatic co-star, Keel Watson, and rehearsed with the adult choir and musicians who will accompany them on the big stage, but their focus and energy is needed every single Sunday as they throw themselves into the rehearsal process.

An original piece of theatre, written by our creative producer, Andrew Alty, Thames Tales is part of the Liquid History concert, a community music project using the theme of rivers to explore relationships between young people in Merton.

Looking ahead to performing on one of the country’s biggest and most prestigious stages, Act Two are feeling excited, a little daunted and privileged.

Tickets are almost sold out for the one-off performance, so if you’d love to see these talented young people sing, dance and act on such a special stage, visit this link to book.

Here’s Reeve, playing Naomi, Father Thames’s grandaughter, to close out Act Two’s takeover post: she’s rehearsing the beautiful and atmospheric original song, Walk on the Water, written by Pete Churchill and Adam Saunders.

If this doesn’t leave you with shivers up your spine…nothing will!
