The shows from our Act Two and Three groups are now on sale! Both groups have been working hard to bring together exciting performances at The New Wimbledon Theatre Studio. Based on our work with Alzheimer’s Society and our Merton Plays members, both shows centre on memory and community. The Light From Within, March 24th & 25th
Our Act Three story, from School Years 11, 12 & 13, tells of Ansel. Ansel loves photography and they hold a camera up at the world to capture its beauty but also to act as a shield to protect themself from it. When Ansel receives a box of his grandmother’s old camera film, things get a little strange. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Ansel only needs one.
The Light From Within is a beautiful play inspired by Act Three’s devising workshops and masterclasses.

The Woman From The Sea, March 31st & April 1st
Our Act Two group, made up of School Years 9 & 10, has created a village by the sea where things are going missing: a wedding ring, a spider plant and a high-heeled shoe. In this world, a woman is found washed up on the shore. She has grey hair the colour of a hammerhead shark. She has blue hair. She lost her voice. She exchanged her voice for a pair of legs. Everyone remembers things differently in this modern take on The Little Mermaid.

Our General Manager, Grace, is running the Worthing half marathon to help raise some money for WCTT. With the extra funds, we will be able to create more free and subsidised places at Young Actors Company, ensuring young people across Merton and neighbouring boroughs can access the arts.
