Last term, both Act Two and Act Three had their full productions in New Wimbledon Theatre Studio. Here, we take a look back on two triumphant runs – and we thought you’d like to see some pictures and read a little audience feedback…
Strawberry Yoghurt – March 26th 2022
Act Two devised their own story under the expert watch of group leaders Lerato Islam and Gavin Joseph. Lerato took their characters, storyline and devised scenes and wrote a funny and engaging script for the young people to work with.
It was wonderful to watch the young people take ownership and responsibility of the work, rise to the challenge and produce engaging, high quality performances. More than this though, it was a joy and privilege to watch their friendships grow; the care and support they offered to each other and their sense of achievement when they realised how well they’d done. Congratulations Act Two!
“Strawberry Yoghurt was absolutely fab, P loved every minute of it!”
“Funny and very moving at the end.”

A Series of Public Apologies (in response to an unfortunate incident in the school lavatories) – April 1st & 2nd 2022
Act Three chose a script by the BAFTA nominated writer John Donnelly first performed as part of National Theatre Connections 2020. Satire, parody and absurdism collided in a performance that was both hilarious and thought-provoking. Directed by their group leader Andrew McPherson and assisted by Gavin Joseph, you could tell the actors had as much fun performing it as the audience did watching it.
This is such a committed and talented group of young people who just love to create and perform. We can’t wait to see what they come up with this term!
“Laughing throughout the whole thing! Great character choices!”
