WCTT sponsored walk on Wimbledon Common

By sponsoring our young actors you’ll be contributing to an innovative programme of social and community engagement in 2019.

Fundraising is a big part of what we do at WCTT.

Our next big event is a sponsored walk on Wimbledon Common, just up the road from our rehearsal space at the Time & Leisure Studio in New Wimbledon Theatre.

On Saturday 29 September 2018, our young actors will be walking a challenging 5km route across the common. And they’ll be dressed as their favourite stars from film, theatre and TV (minus platform heels – even if they’re channelling Lady Gaga).

We’ve also heard a rumour that many of our walkers will be joined by their parents…which could raise the stakes in terms of costume competitiveness.

With a fundraising target of £1,000 – and two hours schlepping across the common to complete – our company members would hugely appreciate your support.

By helping us reach our target you’ll be contributing to a packed programme of community projects in spring 2019; projects that inspire, engage and connect with the people of Merton across all ages and backgrounds.

Raising money for young actors in Merton

WCTT is a charity that designs and delivers arts-based community programmes to develop confidence and skills for life, engaging young people with the issues that affect them.

The Young Actors Company is just one of those programmes.

The money we raise through our fundraising events helps to fund life-changing projects. It also enables us to keep the Young Actors Company free of charge, so young people across the borough have the opportunity to work with us, express their creativity and fulfil their potential, irrespective of their financial situation.

We’d love to have your support for Walking with the Stars, the WCTT sponsored walk on Wimbledon Common – or, if you’d like to find out more about our charity, and future projects and events, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
