Who needs Glasto? We hosted a night of amazing live music – and smashed our fundraising target.
Our first Young Actors Live event, in Wimbledon on Thursday June 27 2019, was a huge success.
As well as enjoying live performances from six ridiculously talented young acts, there was plentiful eating and drinking, questionable singing along and fortuitous rattling of the collection bucket.
If you couldn’t be there, sneak a peek at the talent you missed in the video below….
The £531 raised will fund one bursary place in the Young Actors Company (YAC) in September 2019.
As affordable membership fees are introduced, we’re aiming to offer bursary places for as many young people as need them. Events like this one give us a chance to raise money for these essential places, as well as showcasing the multi-talents of our own company members, and the extended YAC family.
We’re hugely grateful to the Old Frizzle for hosting the event; to Matt Swan from the Modern Apes for producing the night; to Rich Brown from Cricket Green School for introducing us to two supremely talented singers; to Dawn Steele at Rutlish for making things happen; to Sam Miles for stepping in on the drums; to the families (aka roadies!) of all the acts; to our lively audience; and to Luke, Ashley, Gabriel, Najah, Sheya and the Eclectics for a night of joyful, emotional and pogo-inducing entertainment.
